From Madrid to Miami
TATEL, the restaurant by tennis superstar Rafael Nadal and legendary singer Enrique Iglesias is now open at the Ritz Carlton, Miami Beach! The dinner experience begins with delicious slices of toasted bread with fresh lavender, tomatoes, and fresh garlic to rub right on it. The first dish I tried was the Grilled Octopus with Confit Potatoes and Mojo Sauce. This was quite delicious! Great way to start the meal with a traditional dish. Next up came the Crispy Artichoke with Iberico Ham. What a delicacy! The Iberico ham or “Jamón Iberico” was fresh and buttery, while the crispy artichokes were flavorful and delicious. The combination of both of them was extraordinary.
Next up was the Chilean Seabass Andalusian Style. Quite delicious in my opinion, very rich in flavor. If you are into fried fish and love Seabass, this one is the one for you! We then indulged with the Barley Risotto with Shaved Truffle. For my truffle lovers, this is a MUST. The risotto is smooth and made fresh, but the best part is the shaved black truffle that they generously place all over the dish! To wrap up the main courses we had the chance to try the signature Duck Wellington. If you are a wellington-style lover, this one will not disappoint! The duck was perfectly cooked and tender, and the puff pastry where it is wrapped in was fluffed to perfection.
“So who needs dessert anyways?” – said no one ever. Here’s one of our favorite parts! First we tried the Brutal Chocolate Cake with Vanilla Ice Cream. Oh my, the richness of this moist chocolate cake is indescribably spectacular. When paired with the creamy vanilla ice cream, it makes the perfect combination. Next we tried the Hazelnut Coulant. This is essentially a molten lava cake BUT made with hazelnut. Quite flavorful as well! Want to see them in action? Check out the videos!
